Q: Are the 12" tongs sutible for outdoor grilling?
A: Yes that is what I got them for and I also got the 8" for indoors.
Q: Is this the same or at least the same quality as the 16-inch oxo tongs that comes as part of the grill set which also includes a turner?
A: It is the same quality as the 16 inch tongs. It is really a useful and easy to use pair of tongs. My husband uses them as much as I do and he really likes them. I would say that it is worth the money to buy a pair.
Q: Do they rust? I've purchased I guess stainless-steel-plated ones from walmart and after soaking in dishwater too long, they rust.
A: I don't think so. I've had mine a few months & usually wash by hand & they look fine. None of these are rust proof but if i can get a couple of years use, for the price it's worth it.
