Q: Will this give a perfectly smooth finish?
A: This always gives me a smooth finish. I just iced a butter pecan cake with coconut pecan icing. Even the textured icing was smoother than I've ever seen of it.
Q: Can it be used to cut the cake too?
A: I think it is strickly used for icing the cake.
