A: No sharp edge, perfect for what you want to use it for.
Q: Does this get water up inside the handle after washing, and can the handle eventually come off?
A: No it does not get water inside the handle it is sealed it is very sturdy and I don't see a way that the handle would come off as it is all one piece< I like it so much that I ordered another one.
